Day 84 - Lisa

As the other one posted we blew some time today "antiguing."  First of all, anyone who really knows us knows just how funny that is.  Anyway, I found a couple of cool items.  I collect cat figurines.  As I've stated before I don't like cutsie-poo, I like unique and different.  These little kitties are a pair of salt and pepper shakers.  My other item is a really striking platter.  Although I think I'm inclined to hang it somewhere, someday.

Day 84 - Sis

As we did today, occasionally Lisa and I roam around an antique store near us. Sometimes at this store I feel like I'm in one of those games where you have to find the hidden objects. Well just take a look at this, baby blue beauty, a home hairdryer from the past! I remember sitting many long, hot, hours under one of these things. What a waste of time for someone like me with the straightest head of hair in my family. My hair stayed "curled" for at least an hour with a a great quantity of AquaNet but my ears stayed red much longer.

Day 83 - Lisa

Speechless!  If you've been following the blog you know why.  <wink wink>

Day 83 - Sis

I finished this book yesterday and it only took two days. I guess you could say it was an easy and fast read, thoroughly enjoyable. Wonder if had anything to do with it being in the YA age category, 12 years and up? Hey, it had some big words in it! Now I need to find some prepubescent girlfriends to hang with at the movie!

Day 82 - Lisa

I think a certain kitty has a doggie-crush.

Day 82 - Sis

A small breeze blows these tree blossoms from their branches. As they lightly skip along the pavement, they then circle the curb and hang out at the corner. Think they may be teen blossoms.;-

Day 81 - Lisa

I'm telling you, I HATE this toy, it ain't right!!!!  Now, it's eating our fruit!  I'm getting scared that its gong to show no mercy while seeking revenge; being it hasn't a face anymore.

Day 81 - Sis

See all those Xs on my March Madness pool? Those were my picks and no, the x doesn't represent a kiss. They are reminders of how any hope I had of winning this year, I can kiss good-bye!

Day 80 - Lisa

LOL - now this might be taking technology a tad to far.  Yes, I'd like to make a reservation for my upcoming emergency.  What is this a hotline for psychic patients?

Day 80 - Sis

Almost two weeks ago I had to find some documents, so going through stacks of useless, stored papers, I had to set aside some time to shred them. Took a few hours but finally succeeded in destroying them today. Don't you wish you could take useless parts of your life that have stored themselves in your mind and dispose of them this easily? LOL

Day 79 - Lisa

Suffering the pollen woes.  6000 was the record 20 years ago, today was in the 8000's.  Oy, I'm so hurting.

Day 79 - Sis

Dog-Diarrhea= Doggy Diet. It also means hurried trips outside in the middle of the night, not what I like about this part of dog ownership.

Day 78 - Lisa

Feeling much better today in front of the TV!!  Still had to work but not as long today.  ;>

Day 78 - Sis

Decades ago this would have been a perfect playground for the gang of kids I hung around with daily. Add a dog, along with our imagination, to see a high mountain to climb, bear hunting, Indians scouting, cowboys and Indians games, quiet place to rest, etc. All free then, no entry fees, taxes, helmets, body padding, concession stands or parents. Of course a possibility of picking up a tick, bug bites, scratches, slivers would be the real dangers for the day; which might be a big deal if you were the one it happened to but you'd go back the next day for another round.

Day 77 - Lisa

I'm green with envy today.  I'm working while others are home watching March Madness.  Boo!

Day 77 - Sis

Holy Smoley, now this is a paperweight if you own a lumber mill!

Day 76 - Sis

This is and ad from the 70's but I changed it a bit, in my mind, when I walked a mile for a coke! Sunny spring day, oneeya needed a walk and I bought this bottle, produced in Mexico, at the little restaurant near our apartment. It's actually a 1/2 mile but the round trip made it a mile. Oh and yes when I took that first swig, I smiled!

Day 75 - Sis

Thought this rock was very pretty when I found it while on a walk. Makes a nice paperweight, free and easy to maintain. The dog was also along for the walk, does that make her a rockhound?

Day 75 - Lisa

Woke up at 4am with banging headache.  I almost OD'ed myself trying to rid the headache.  Headache won.  Still throbbing like a bugger at 2:23pm.  Just trying to stay still and quiet.  Ugh!

Day 74 - Lisa

Uh-oh!  No good for me.  This is pollen on my windshield at 7pm at night??!!

Day 74 - Sis

Once again tried the local grocery store's fresh baked Italian bread. I'm going to suggest they change the id of the bread from Italian to Pope, you know for His Holiness!

Day 73 - Lisa

Is this another one of the conspiracies floating around about Michelle Obama's way to get America eating right? The bread companies way of weaning us off the grains?  No, it's not.  Just another example of the odd "Chicago" bread we bought at the grocery store.

Day 73 - Sis

Ah,the non-religious sign of Easter approaching. The sticking, over sweet, confection, "peeps", are on the shelves. I just don't get them or want them, yucky to me but I know yummy for many. I have a couple of nieces who love them and neither are under 10 years of age, still drooling for these sweets into their 30's and 40's. Which is why this recipe is going to the one who has time to bake and hopefully get her fill of the favorite Easter time treat. Make sure you share with Melissa, Kellee!

Day 72 - Lisa

Walked outside to go to work this morning and saw this cool half moon.  Only had my phone camera to try and capture the shadow of the full moon with half of it a brilliant white.  Gorgeous!

Day 72 - Sis

That time! Going to be busy for sometime with cheering, yelling and swearing possibly involved while watching more college basketball than I watch in an entire season.

Day 71 - Lisa

Addicted!  It's like Pictionary, you draw on your smartphone and play with others.  Have been staying up way too late at night, cracking up at the artistic talents of my friends & family.

Day 71 - Sis

Did it again. Calls for oven at 400% for 30 minutes then 350% for the next 30 minutes. I seem to forget that temp change and instead of "Singapore" drummettes I get more "blackened" shrunkettes!

Day 70 - Lisa

While my mom was scoring a cookbook bargain, I found this Christmas platter.  It was marked for $9.99 but the manager gave me a 50% discount.  I did not even ask for it.  <shrugs shoulders> So I got this wonderful glass holiday scene for $4.99.  Just what I needed something else Christmas.  ;>

Day 70 - Sis

Driving around today stopping at different stores to browse and look at a few things when I saw the Salvation Army store and asked Lisa to stop. It was a delight with all kinds of items to behold and I found this cookbook. Price was right, originally $25, so I snapped it up!

Day 69 - Sis

Tomorrow oneeya will visit her favorite getaway and try out her new nap mat. The doggy daycare she loves is running a special, for the month of March the fee is only $10. She can enjoy the day with her canine friends at a minimal price. She won't be able to go every Saturday due to a problem with transportation, luckily she has no idea what a calendar is.

Day 69 - Lisa

Muy delicioso!  Dinner tonight was my favorite pasta and a couple glasses of this vino.  Hit the spot after weird, intense, off the charts week.

Day 68 - Sis

Besides these beautiful file cabinets I've collected quite a paper logjam. While going through the statements, receipts, etc. I also found programs, tickets, boarding passes, vacation pamphlets. Two years, nine months living here and from the looks of it, I've been pretty busy.

Day 68 - Lisa

A good friend from work surprised me this morning with this little planter of flowers.  Perfect for my desk and very helpful to my mood.  Thank you Laura!!!  It's been a rough week!

Day 67 - Lisa

I was made fun of and I heard the snickers when people would see me washing my utensils @ work.  That's fine, laugh at the California hippie green recycling freak.  Funny, now I see more utensils making their way into the lunchroom cabinets drawers.  We need to be kind to Mother Earth, people.

Day 67 - Sis

"Hope springs eternal", beginning of a poem from: Alex Pope An Essay on Man, Epistle 1, 1733. Now forward to 2012 and some parents of school age children may be thinking, "Hoping Spring's eternal!"

Day 66 - Lisa

I suck at math.  Always have so it's ironic that I spend my day planning production schedules, creating forecasts, dissecting data and creating demand segmentation formulas.  Serves me right for running into Home Depot yesterday and buying the cheapest tape measure I could for a quick project.  Like Waldo, find the foot marker.  It was like torture having me try to divide inches into feet.

Day 66- Sis

Have I told you some of the reasons I don't enjoy apartment living? Even if I have, here are three other reasons. 1-Can't have an outside grill. 2- Don't have a gas stove. 3- Stove doesn't have a SELF-CLEANING OVEN! Believe it or not I like a very clean stove to cook on and in.

Day 65 - Lisa

This means nothing but TROUBLE!  And usually leads to picture #2 which happens while I'm sleeping.  It's usually because at 3am said Warrior Kitty needs some affection or God forbid she can see a dime size empty spot at the bottom of her food bowl.  Trust me, the fin sticking out of the water with the looming Jaws stalking musical score in the background is tame compared to the "EARS."

Day 65 - Sis

This rabies tag was added to oneeya's collar. She appears to like the color of the little heart and the jangle noise it makes. I, on the other hand, lost all color and only heard the cha-ching as I paid for her annual visit and the other vaccines, blood, urine and fecal analysis done. The pay-off, she's healthy and that's worth the cost.
