We got the news of our closing day is next Friday. So guess what world we officially have bought a home in GA. Holy Guacamole do we have a lot of work to do! We celebrated by going shoe shopping. I really stretched myself once again. Adding more Nike flipflops and some Fila's to my closet.
After digitally capturing each day initially in 2010 my Mom (Sis) and I (Lisa) decided to challenge ourselves again in 2011. We went with a different approach; captured whatever enticed us on a weekly basis. So here we are in 2012 deciding now just to keep to the daily challenge of a picture a day from now till whenever we get sick of doing it! There might get some journaling along with our digital images. Whatever we decide, we'll try to be entertaining. Sarcasm is guaranteed!

Day 96 - Sis
Only have one Easter decoration this year thanks to our D.C. vacation souvenir. It's a great reminder of a wonderful time and adventure.
Day 96 - Lisa
Mama tried a new garnish for our steaks - artichokes, red onion, garlic and parmesan cheese added once the steak is almost done, let melt and serve. HEAVEN! No need for A-1 or horseradish.

Day 94 - Sis
I have had this laundry bag for over ten years, keeping it in my suitcase for dirty clothes when traveling. Almost three years ago I moved here and made it my clothes hamper, hung in on a hanger in the closet. Sad to lose, it held many memories not just dirty clothes. Especially since it came from the "happiest place" in my home state.

Day 93 - Lisa
Ohhhhh so happy! My godson, Jacob is playing baseball again this year. So wish I could see him play live but still full of joy that he is playing and loving the game. He is playing catcher this year. No letting his mind wander like in rightfield!
Day 93- Sis
March Madness 2012 has ended and so did my run of winning picks. My choice for the championship was the University of North Carolina. Kentucky wins, which means I had the wrong team but the right school colors, blue and white! Yep, and blue is how I'm feeling.

Day 92 - Sis
It was this kind of day. Looking out the sun-roof, riding in the truck with no particular plan but ending up at a large plant outlet. This place was packed, people pulling little flat carts with numerous varieties of fauna and flowers. Reminded me of my days working in the nursery in Hayward where it was plants and flowers in hothouses and steamed up glasses!
Day 92 - Lisa
We went to the Grower's Outlet today. Finally living in a place that if we plant Bougainvillea it might survive. One of my favorites and they were so beautiful. So I pose the question when making strawberry shortcake do you just slice, mash or slice-n-mash? We slice-n-mash with some sugar. Yummy!

Day 91 - Lisa
My mom and I have our routine down pat when we go grocery shopping. We try to unload the cart based on food groups and how we want them bagged up. Fruits & Vegs, Meats, Canned goods, paper products, frozen foods, etc. So my mom helps we get started and then she goes down to the register to start that process while I continue to unload the cart. Today we had a bit of a frustrating experience that had me feeling a bit like Matt Dillon in Something About Mary. 1) we had so many groceries that it took up the entire length of the grocery counter belt (what do you call that thing?) and I have this couple behind me with one of those hand baskets with about 6 items in it. The male is practically standing on top of me shifting from foot to foot and sighing. I'm unloading and I can feel his breath and presence on me. I'm getting irritated. I cannot go any faster because the "bagger" is having difficulties bagging our groceries. I do not think he's worked there long and he's mentally challenged. The grocery clerk, my mom and I are all trying very hard to be patient and their boss keeps coming over to help the bagger but he is struggling. The couple behind me I guess think speeding things up would be to begin to push at me. The woman tells her partner loudly, "go ahead and sit the basket up there, she is FINALLY DONE." O - M - G !!!! So me being me, I turn around and tell them, "why are you sighing and pushing when you could easily walk down to the 10 items or less line?" They ignore me. LOL Aye yi yi. What makes people tick? I try to understand. 2) Our groceries are a disaster. I walk down to help the bagger get the groceries in the cart and I have a bag with one tub of margarine, canned goods sitting on top of a bag of grapes and strawberries. A huge bottle of Cloroz inside a plastic bag. LOL So I'm trying to be polite, sensitive and hurry up and get stuff re-bagged. It was hopeless. So there was my mom and I out at the truck completely re-bagging our groceries in the hot sun. All of this so we can drive 15min to our place and unload everything in about 20 minutes. I felt bad for feeling frustrated with the kid and annoyed that the couple got under my skin. I hate grocery shopping! Have I said that enough lately?
Day 91 - Sis
This is a shortcut I take occasionally while walking the dog and with today's weather these air conditioners were humming. The dog likes this spot because there is a patch of long grass she likes to stop and chew on. I like it because the apartment is just down from the little incline!

Day 90 - Lisa
Today was the last lunchtime book club gathering at work. Several of my co-workers and I decided to read & discuss the book about the company Zappos. We had a good time sharing ideas, problems and our lives every Friday for 60 minutes. I hope to do it again. It was fun to learn more about them as people and share our thoughts about our own jobs and how it related to the book.
Day 90 - Sis
This is the place for you if you need some pine cones for crafts or love the scent of pine cones. Everywhere you look and all for the taking!

Day 89 - Lisa
We tried a new restaurant in our area tonight. It's called Three Blind Mice. Sits in a small strip mall but do not be fooled it's a very charming bistro on the inside. My mom and I both had Steak Diane - wow what a cut of meat! They have an awesome wine selection.

Day 88 - Lisa
I said I would not get hooked this year but here we are watching every Wednesday night. At first, I thought this season did not have enough talent and now I have about 4 favorites: Philip, Joshua, Elise and Jessica. Aye yi yi.
Day 88 - Sis
It's been three days since this grocery list was made out and it's been in my wallet just waiting. Would feel bad for it but I've managed to get two free dinners out while it waits its turn. ;0

Day 87 - Lisa
I pass this Dogwood tree everyday. It looks like it's dancing, like the branches are a skirt being lifted up and twirling around. Too bad I could not get closer without having a sneezing fit. ;>
Day 87 - Sis
Pink isn't a color I like but on this tree's blossoms I find the simple blush a natural beauty. Sometimes that's more than enough.

Day 86 - Lisa
Memory travel lane; one relative and two co-workers inquired about Washington DC in the past couple days. Made me go back and look at my pictures. A few favorites from one of my best vacations ever; Mt. Vernon, Library of Congress and the Jefferson Memorial.
Day 86 - Sis
Time to bring out the apartment gardening supplies and plant the little I have. Crossing my fingers that hanging one will be more productive this time. Also waiting for my garden club members to show up to do the watering and will surprise them with their own plastic tubs to plants nasturtiums. Guess they have homework to do. :-(

Day 85 - Sis
These are reusable shopping bags. They're just hanging around waiting to go to the grocery store and be filled. Too bad, because I found enough things to make dinner and they will have to wait another day!

Day 84 - Lisa
As the other one posted we blew some time today "antiguing." First of all, anyone who really knows us knows just how funny that is. Anyway, I found a couple of cool items. I collect cat figurines. As I've stated before I don't like cutsie-poo, I like unique and different. These little kitties are a pair of salt and pepper shakers. My other item is a really striking platter. Although I think I'm inclined to hang it somewhere, someday.
Day 84 - Sis
As we did today, occasionally Lisa and I roam around an antique store near us. Sometimes at this store I feel like I'm in one of those games where you have to find the hidden objects. Well just take a look at this, baby blue beauty, a home hairdryer from the past! I remember sitting many long, hot, hours under one of these things. What a waste of time for someone like me with the straightest head of hair in my family. My hair stayed "curled" for at least an hour with a a great quantity of AquaNet but my ears stayed red much longer.

Day 83 - Sis
I finished this book yesterday and it only took two days. I guess you could say it was an easy and fast read, thoroughly enjoyable. Wonder if had anything to do with it being in the YA age category, 12 years and up? Hey, it had some big words in it! Now I need to find some prepubescent girlfriends to hang with at the movie!

Day 82 - Sis
A small breeze blows these tree blossoms from their branches. As they lightly skip along the pavement, they then circle the curb and hang out at the corner. Think they may be teen blossoms.;-

Day 81 - Lisa
I'm telling you, I HATE this toy, it ain't right!!!! Now, it's eating our fruit! I'm getting scared that its gong to show no mercy while seeking revenge; being it hasn't a face anymore.
Day 81 - Sis
See all those Xs on my March Madness pool? Those were my picks and no, the x doesn't represent a kiss. They are reminders of how any hope I had of winning this year, I can kiss good-bye!

Day 80 - Lisa
LOL - now this might be taking technology a tad to far. Yes, I'd like to make a reservation for my upcoming emergency. What is this a hotline for psychic patients?
Day 80 - Sis
Almost two weeks ago I had to find some documents, so going through stacks of useless, stored papers, I had to set aside some time to shred them. Took a few hours but finally succeeded in destroying them today. Don't you wish you could take useless parts of your life that have stored themselves in your mind and dispose of them this easily? LOL

Day 79 - Lisa
Suffering the pollen woes. 6000 was the record 20 years ago, today was in the 8000's. Oy, I'm so hurting.
Day 79 - Sis
Dog-Diarrhea= Doggy Diet. It also means hurried trips outside in the middle of the night, not what I like about this part of dog ownership.

Day 78 - Sis
Decades ago this would have been a perfect playground for the gang of kids I hung around with daily. Add a dog, along with our imagination, to see a high mountain to climb, bear hunting, Indians scouting, cowboys and Indians games, quiet place to rest, etc. All free then, no entry fees, taxes, helmets, body padding, concession stands or parents. Of course a possibility of picking up a tick, bug bites, scratches, slivers would be the real dangers for the day; which might be a big deal if you were the one it happened to but you'd go back the next day for another round.
